I have many experiences. This time happened about 2 years ago. The theater near me has stadium seating and there is a big enough gap between the seats in front of you to easily slip your foot through to stretch out. I usually look for couples where the woman already has her foot up (a lot of times I’m not that lucky and have to guess at who shows the most potential). I’ll sit so there is a seat between me and the armrest. When the lights go out I’ll act like I’m stretching and slide my hand over so I’m grabbing the back of the armrest with the top of my fingers pointing toward her. My favorite thing in the world is when I have my hand in place (and if she was paying attention, she would see it), THEN she puts her foot up and crushes.

So, this particular time I went in while the coming attractions were on and people were still filing in. I saw two collage girls sitting in maybe the 4th or 5th row, next to them in the same row was a family. I didn’t really notice them Because I was focused on the others. I barely sat down and put my drink in the cup holder 1 seat over in front of the mother to deter people from sitting in my row. As I’m putting it in the cupholder, I see a beautiful flip flopped foot go up onto the armrest. I could not believe the utter lack of caring that I putting my drink there and she just sticks her dirty flop flop maybe 12” from it.

Needless to say my heart started pounding. I sat there praying that no one else sat in my row and after the longest 5 minutes before the start of the movie, no one did. She had taken her foot down during the wait, so I was hoping that it wasn’t a fluke and she’d never put it back up (I’ve had it happen). The second the lights began to dim I put my hand in position and the second that I did I feel a light brush and BAM right up, smashing and engulfing not just my fingers but my whole hand almost to my wrist. Not only is my hand being smashed, but because this is a vertical crush I’m also holding on so my hand doesn’t slip down. I’m basically taking the crush and holding her entire leg up.

The way the arm rest is set up, you’re holding on to the plastic arm back, but if you have all of your fingers there, your pinky gets pinned between a metal edge and her heel. This causes white pain because is so centralized. You can take it, but every shift is a new wave.

She would stay like this for about 10 minutes then shift and take her foot down. It was just enough to regain feeling before I’d feel a soft brush and WHAM, back again with no regard if it bothered me. This time she twisted her foot so it was actually up to my wrist, then I see the other foot! I am now sitting here, trying not to look over as this woman is crushing me, engulfing my entire fingers and hand and I am shaking through it trying to actually hold up the entire weight of both of her legs while she laughs, reaches over her husband to hand her kid popcorn, reaches down with her face 6” from my hand for her soda.

These crushing would last 10 minutes at a time, with maybe 3-5 minute brakes. The next time she took her feet down for a few, I decided to try the girls that I sat there for in the first place. I had noticed already that there wasn’t any action from them so far. I kept my hand in place on my right side of course, but now I stretched my left out to their side. Nothing came of it, but then on my right, I feel the familiar brush of a flip flop annnddd Bam, shift and bam, both feet up again. Just as that happens , I feel it on my left. Kind of gentle to start (she had her legs crossed and was just playing with the arm rest), but then SHE uncrossed and got me full on with Air Force Ones, which are very hard and have no give.

Now I am sitting with both arms stretched out to either side getting crushed by 2 women at the same time. They of course don’t know they’re doing this, but they do know that both of their feet are in my area, disturbing me as I watch a movie. That lack of caring about my experience that I paid to see just as long as they’re as comfortable as they can be is what really gets me. Plus the pain caused just so they can stretch out and laugh and eat snacks.

This went on until the credits and thankfully they both took their feet down as the lights came up. I stalled so they would walk by me. The total indifference of the pain that was caused for the past 2 plus hours as they all laughed and walked out was the icing on the cake!

This is a 100% true. I don’t like reading fiction about this subject and wanted to share a real one.
