A few days later, I stopped by to see Ida-Lisa, who was alone in the store. She looked less annoyed than the last time I’d seen her. She was unpacking some things, so I could watch her in peace. I liked it when she dropped an empty bag on the floor and accidentally stepped on it. “This is where the bags should be,” I said, my voice tinged with longing. “What kind of person are you?” Ida-Lisa asked as she turned around, a mischievous gleam in her eyes. “Hi, my name is Ove,” I said, glancing at Ida-Lisa’s flip-flops. “Oh, really?” Ida-Lisa replied. “I’m going to work as a walkway mat from now on,” I said, casting another glance at Ida-Lisa’s flip-flops. “I didn’t order anything like that, but lie down in front of, or rather, behind, the checkout counter, and I’ll give it a try.” I walked over and lay down. I had barely settled in when the first customer walked in. Ida-Lisa walked toward me with a welcoming smile for the customer, who didn’t suspect anything out of the ordinary. She just picked out what she wanted and lined it up at the register. Standing gently on me, Ida-Lisa talked with her. They then stood there chatting about nothing for a while. I enjoyed being flattened under Ida-Lisa’s flip-flops. “I know you’ve started working out, but I didn’t realize it would affect your height,” said the customer, who happened to be the known hairdresser, amused. She leaned over the counter and looked down at me as I lay there, smiling at her. “You’re such a dodgeball, lying there,” she said with a playful wink in my direction. “Yeah, I’m lying here enjoying myself under Ida-Lisa’s flip-flops.” Continue reading “Trampling girl in a store – Part 3“
