Kevin, one of the guys I knew from work, asked me to double date with him and his girlfriend at a movie night. It was billed as a quiet night at home watching a DVD with pizza, and his girlfriend’s flatmate was to be my date. With much trepidation, I showered and dressed in my smartest casual for the evening, and went to the address at the correct time.
I knocked on the door, and a very nice blonde answered, dressed in a brief sports top and loose track pants. “Hi,” she said, “you must be Sam. I am Elaine, and Kevin is, of course, late!!” She beckoned me in, and I gave her the chips, chocolate, Coke Zero, and bag of goodies.
