I walked into a restaurant named Texas, I smiled, still weary from driving 18 hours. I came to Chicago to see family its my last summer before life begins.
Its the summer before brfore my Sr. Year of High School. That valuable time your still free to live life before life gets in the way, before work and bills require all your attention.
I’m from Eustace a small town in East TX, its a quiet town between Dallas and Tyler.
Most of my relatives lived in the suburbs of Chicago. I haven’t seen family up there in years being a thousand miles away makes it hard to visit. I could have tried harder over the years but we all get wrapped up in our own life. Out of site out of mind I guess.
It’s been many years since I had been back, so much has changed. I’m 19 now and nothing like the young kid my relatives had known. After all I was eight when my family moved to Texas.
I drove out to Hoffman Estates a suburb of Chicago, stopped by my Aunts house, both my cousins still live at home with her. Nikki is 23 and Tracy 21 I was shocked they still live in the same house I remember. Its the same all these years later, well on the outside anyway.
I pulled into the drive, no one answered when i knocked. I decided to look for a place to eat as I drove unfamiliar with the area, I see a sign that caught my eye and I pulled in.
The sign out front that said “Texas” I could not help but smile. I looked forward to a hot meal that wasn’t fast food.
My body sore from the long drive I sat in a booth looking over the menu, taking in the familiar memorabilia. A big TX flag, a badly done Jackalope on the wall, old boots, pictures of places I recognized, some I had been to, a few stuck out, Big TX, The Alamo, Cowboys stadium.
With my dusty hat pulled low, the wide brim of my Resistol casting a shadow over my face. Honestly, I was glad to stretch my legs. The long hours driving taking a toll on my young body.
The waitress walks up, with a smile looking me up and down “can I get you a pop?” She asked with a cute smile. She was standing on one foot, her other foot on top of the first. That turned me on to be honest, as thoughts of things I should not be thinking crossed my mind.
Like being under her old school Reebok trainer, all her weight focused, then I snapped out of it. Blushing, glad she could not read my mind.
I was stunned, when our eyes met, here stood this tall beauty a few years older than me. Her long black hair, deep blue eyes. Legs that went on for days. And well she was built very nice. The thought dang they grow them right up here crossed my mind.
I pulled myself together, with a smile, “Ma’am this is Texas right?” Honestly trying not to sound condescending. But doing my best to flirt.
She smiled a confused look on her face, “yes? Well the restaurant anyway.”
I laughed, lightly, “we don’t say pop in TX,” she looked at me for a long pause. Then she smiled, a slight smirk, “and you know this how? Are you from Texas?”
Now her eyes looking at me with an unreadable expression. I wanted to make a good impression so in my best, I hope sexy sounding voice. I might have exaggerated my Texas draw just a little.
I grinned, then pointed toward the window where my Ram 2500 sat, parked just outside big Texas license plate prominently displayed on the front bumper.
“Yes ma’am, we say Coke, then what kind, Coke, Dr Pepper,Pepsi , I get it though, my cousins say the same thing, they also say you guys, instead of Ya’ll, always makes me laugh. Yankees always talk funny.”
She giggled, “well I stand corrected Sir.” She exaggerated the Sir but in a flirty way, batting her eyes at me.
It worked she had my full attention, and now i’m feeling self conscious. Trying to play it cool, hoping she is feeling what I am, even though I’m not sure what this is. I just know i dont want this meeting to end.
“Your the first guy to ever call me Ma’am,” she smiled her eyes sparkling as she adjusted her hair. “What part of Texas are you from?”She asked as she moved closer. Her pretty eyes bright with anticipation.
“East Texas, little town of Eustace, it’s a tiny, two gas station and a post office town. You blink twice and you passed it.”
“Really its that small. I’ve never seen a town like that, being from Elgin, a suburb of Chicago. The city is all I know. So what do you do in this two gas station town? For fun, I mean seems pretty boring?”
“Well, on Friday nights when it’s not football season, we all get together and park our trucks in a circle in the pasture. We sit on the tailgate by a fire and talk, crank up some music, dance, drink, just hang out.”
“Sometimes we go to one of the bigger towns and catch a movie, most Saturday nights we rodeo at the County buck out. Try to win money, buckles, and bragging rights.”
“That oddly sounds fun, a lot different than around here. Huge house parties, people getting stupid, the guys are usually jerks.”
“I’m Zorra. What brings a sexy Texas cowboy to Elgin IL. You’re a long way from home?”
I winked at Zorra, “well I walked into Dairy Queen to get a Hunger Buster. I noticed two old ranchers in overalls talking. They waved me over, told me to take a seat, then one said Son, in Elgin, IL, working at a restaurant named Texas, you will find a stunning young woman named Zorra.”
“If you’re persistent, lucky, and play your cards just right. You will get a date with her, and if you’re really, really lucky, he grinned with all five teeth. That first kiss will make the 18 hour drive worth it.”
Zorra laughed so hard, she snorted just a little, that made her deeply blush, still laughing she covered her face.
The couple at the next table over also heard what I said. They were laughing hysterically, the lady called out to Zorra, “That’s one hell of a pick-up line!, you have to give him a chance.”
I sat there grinny like a possum that found a stack of eggs. Zorra was still giggling, her face still red, hand hiding her face.
“That was a great pick-up line. Has it ever worked?” She asked with a big smile.
“First time I’ve used it, I’ll have to let you know how it goes. Most of that story is completely true, well ok maybe that old rancher had six teeth.”
Zorra laughed again, “You’re pretty smooth, to be so young. What’s your name, Cowboy, and how old are you?”
“Well ma’am, my name is Cody, Cody Frost. I’m not that young, I mean, I’m old enough to know better, yet too young to resist. If you really must know, I’m 19 and very single,” I laughed
“I came to visit family most of my relatives live around here, so I don’t see them much. Actually, last time I was up this way, it’s been about ten years.”
Zorra rolled her eyes, “Well, I’m a little older than you. I’m 23, I normally date older guys. Just something about you, maybe its those deep brown eyes, that sexy accent, or the way you make me laugh.”
“I get off in an hour. Would you like to go someplace quieter, somewhere I won’t have all my coworkers staring at us?”
I grinned, “Hmmmm, sit in a quieter place with a stunning older woman that thinks i’m sexy.” I laughed “yes please.”
Zorra was laughing hard, “I said your accent was sexy” she giggled..
“Oh, well way to crush a guy’s hopes” I laughed. “I was walking in tall cotten for just a second. Yeah, that’s a big stretch you calling me sexy.” I was laughing.
Zorra was giggling like a schoolgirl, “what can I get you to eat while you wait for me to get off?”
“A taste of home, Chicken fried steak, mashed taters, and fried okra. White gravy on the steak, and taters, almost forgot Yankees eat it with brown gravy.
That’s just wrong.” I made a face, “yuck.”
Zorra giggled, “really mashed taters”, she was laughing, “taters” more giggles.
“Well ma’am what do you call them?” I blushed a little. “Tatters, that’s what I’ve always called them.”
That same lady in the next table was giggling. “I’m sorry she called out, not trying to eavesdrop. He is just hilarious, and adorable, I’m rooting for you cowboy” she was laughing.
I called out, “well thank you ma’am, I appreciate that, I need all the help I can get. Well that’s what my mom tells me.”
Zorra, that lady next table over and her husband were laughing.
Zorra smiling, she rolled her eyes, “I’ll bring this right out Cowboy.” As Zorra finished writing my order on her pad, she purposely stepped on my boot as she walked off to the kitchen, never looking back.
My mind wondered if all this time Zorra noticed me checking out her old style Rebook hight tops. How i seemed distracted by her standing on one foot. Her other foot on top of the first.
As the couple behind me got up to leave, they told me “good luck, I hope you get the girl they called out.”
I thanked them said “my fingers are crossed,” one of the other waitresses giggled as she overheard walking by.
That got me thinking, so Zorra is talking about me back in the kitchen. That’s a good sign, I laughed my mind going back to how turned on I am. Stepping on my foot on purpose lit me on fire.
Little while later when Zorra brought out my order she gently placed the plate in front of me. She then moved placing her hand on my shoulder, her mouth close to my ear.
She whispered in my ear, “I’m a little kinky, a bit of a foot freak, and really good in bed. Are you ok with that, ok with sucking on my toes, being under my Rebooks. Feeling me crush your cock and balls under all my weight. You can just nod.”
I shook my head, my whole body going numb, I couldn’t even feel my hands. I was frozen, in shock.
“Good, Zorra whispered, I just wanted you to know what you’re in for if you date me and if you’re still interested.”
“You sound like my dream woman” I groaned out softly causing Zorra to giggle slightly.
“We’ll see later tonight hun. Hope your not lying to me, might not end well for you.”
Zorra kissed my cheek “Enjoy your meal hun, my toes have been in the gravy.”
