That time that I desensitized a girl to trampling stuff. 2 min read

During my last high school year, I chose to sit in front of a beautiful girl. She was short and always wore sneakers, and that’s something I personally liked very much. The reason I chose this seat, was the fact that I would be able to, throughout the entire year, have her unknowingly trample stuff. Now, I knew that she had very sensitive feet as I had tried something with her a couple times before, so I did not expect to have that much success, but why not try it anyway?

At first I started with simple stuff, that could be treated as actual trash, to see her reaction. This would be pens, pieces of paper etc. Unsurprisingly, after a little fidgeting, she always looked down and picked up whatever was there. She would ask me if this is mine, I would say yes, she’d say sorry and we would move on.

Later on as the school year progressed, I started placing there my scarf, gloves and jacket. At first, she would still be returning the thing that “I lost”, saying that she thinks she stepped on it and that she is sorry. But as this went on, she started caring less and less, reaching a point where she would just see whatever was on the floor, kick it aside and move on with her life. One time, I had thrown a beret and she was annoyed with something else as well, so after the third time she stepped on it, she picked it up and threw it out of the window. If something that she had kicked aside somehow found its way under her feet again, she wouldn’t even try to avoid it anymore and she would just place her feet squarely on it and be done with it.

The thing is, after a point, she didn’t do that only to my stuff, but pretty much anything that found its way to her feet. I saw her trampling pencils that were in her way without so much as a glance, a classmate’s scarf that wasn’t even on the floor, but on the chair where she decided to put her feet during a break and at another point she also used another classmate’s book that was on the floor as a footstool, even playing with it by opening and closing it continuously. She was a menace.

Unfortunately, after high school, our paths never really met again, so that was the end of it. But it was a great year for me, that’s for sure.

  1. Good job! She doesn’t struggle with her conscience any more before stepping on stuff, or even person in the future!!!
